Garrett + Anna
Our story begins in London…
On June 24, 2024, Garrett and Anna met in the lobby of the Grand Plaza Hotel in London on the first day of their study abroad program in Europe.
The program, International Conflict and Cooperation in Europe, was an ambitious political science course that took students through 13 countries in just eight weeks.
Months of talking politics, living in hostels, and surviving a European summer without air conditioning can bring two people together very quickly.
Somewhere between the streets of Paris to the canals of Amsterdam, their friendship steadily grew into something more.
Back to Utah
When their study abroad ended, Anna and Garrett returned to Provo unsure whether their European summer fling would last. But when they saw each other again, it felt just the same.
On September 10, 2024, Garrett asked Anna to be his girlfriend in the parking lot of the Isles Apartments - proof that romance isn’t limited to European cities.
Since then, they have spent almost two wonderful years together in Provo, finishing their studies at BYU. Through hikes, homework sessions, picnic dates, and movie nights side-by-side, Anna and Garrett slowly realized they wouldn’t mind spending forever together.
Garrett proposed while Anna was visiting him in Virginia over New Year’s 2026.
Six months later, they were married in O’ahu, Hawaii.
Next Stop: Washington, D.C.
Anna and Garrett will move to D.C. in August to begin a new chapter as Garrett attends Georgetown Law School and Anna begins her career in economic development.

Garrett earned a degree in Political Science with a minor in International Cinema.
Anna graduated with degrees in Economics and Political Science with an emphasis in Global Development.

Sundance Film Festival 2025
Anna has learned a lot more about movies since dating Garrett. They’ve also discovered they have very different tastes. Garrett loves historical films, foreign cinema, and documentaries, while Anna would happily watch the same rom com plot a hundred different ways.

Our Favorite Date Night
Garrett and Anna’s favorite date nights are the ones spent at home making dinner together. More often than not, Garrett is cooking up another gluten-free pasta recipe while Anna keeps him company.

Garrett's Trip to London
During the summer of 2025, Anna studied at the London School of Economics, leaving Garrett behind for three months of long distance. Garrett stayed in Utah (sick with jealousy), but he refused to let the time difference keep him from FaceTiming Anna every day. He also remedied their time apart with the most perfect week of his life: a trip to England to see Anna. Together they explored London, Brighton, and Greenwich, returning to the places where they first met!
